My major, sociology
This sem, for some reasons, i met many new people. These new people then become friends, the way i define FRIENDS. :)
Anyway, yesterday my proj mate and i went to look for our tutor for a project consultation. Shortly after, all 3 of us started chatting and he asked why we take sociology and what we want to do next time. From him, i learnt that there are no actual sociology practitioners in singapore. Unlike psychologist or historian, there is no such things like a sociologist here. He then later told us that arts is a very general degree and one of his friends ventured into the corporate world, and another is a maxim magazine editor who arrange photos and articles (haha!).
I told him probably that's why people are usually sceptical about our major. When you tell people you're majoring in sociology, the first thing they will ask is "What will you do next time?"
"Tell them you will be a super model next time!" He exclaimed. "Tell them you can be anybody you want to be!"
Quite encouraging, isn't it?
To friends who are unfortunately suffering from dementia-like sickness like me, this is probably a good way to help you remember things! A monthly calendar to let you have a macro view; A Post It to write down the things you need to do; a rough paper to write down the things you've done). Total cost: $2.
